Charlie Chaplin - black pastel original

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charles Spencer Chaplin was born in London on April 16th 1889. His mother loved the theatre and frequently took the young Charles with her to see the shows. He became one of the biggest movie icons of the 20th Century and star of movies such as The Great Dictator and Modern Times.

His comic genius is imitated to this day.

 

Anthony Hopkins - black pastel original

 Anthony Hopkins was born in 1937 in Margam, Wales. In 1965 he was invited by Laurence Olivier to join the National Theatre, and appeared on TV for the first time in 1967. He went on to become one of Britain´s best loved international film stars, with the movie Silence of the Lambs in 1991 earning him an Oscar for Best Actor and ensuring his status as Hollywood icon.

Stan Laurel was born on June 16th 1890 in Ulverston, Cumbria, and christened Arthur Stanley Jefferson. The son of an actor and theatre manager, he made his first appearance at the age of 16 at Pickard´s Museum Glasgow.

Laurel met Hardy in 1925 and so began one of the most enduring partnerships in Hollywood history.

Olliver Hardy was born on January 18th 1892 in Harlem, Georgia. He began his career as a projectionist in a small theatre in Georgia. He moved to Florida with the aim of becoming an actor and married pianist, Madelyn Saloshin. He established a career in movies and met Stan Laurel in 1927. 

Young Dustin Hoffman
Dustin Hoffman was born on 8th August, 1937. His breakthrough movie was the Graduate, based on the novel by Charles Webb, when he played Benjamin Braddock who has an affair with Mrs Robinson before falling for her daughter.
